Telluride

We were able to go to Jim's wedding in September (thanks again mom!) in Telluride, CO. It was great to meet Jim's wife and baby boy and see lots of old friends.

We're Back!!!

We're back on the blog after a long break. Eventually I will post more pictures (and change the name, since the reference to Denver no longer applies), but this will have to do for now. Enjoy...

Deacon's First Haircut

I was somewhat dreading this day, but I knew it had to come. We couldn't fight it anymore, Deacon desperately needed a new fad. He had such beautiful hair, but he started to develop a bit of a "Donald Trump" poof so it had to go. It is amazing how much more he and Carter look alike now and how big he looks. He has also been trying to go to bathroom on the toilet lately....scary!

Let's Match

I never, ever make the boys wear matching outfits, but yesterday I just couldn't resist. Most people don't know this about me, but I have a huge obsession with Gingham (especially Buffalo Check Gingham), stripes, polka dots and toile. I always have loved these prints and patterns and always will. Given my deep love for gingham I had to do it. They boys had fun matching for the day and one lady at the mall actually asked me if they were twins...uh, seriously? She was the perfume lady, and after she made that comment I understood why she was the perfume lady.

Dunkin Donuts

For several months now, Brent and the boys have been going to Dunkin Donuts every Saturday and Sunday morning for a donut run. It has kinda become "their thing" and all of the ladies at the donut shop love them (so i'm told), and give the boys free donut holes while they are waiting for Brent to check out. So cute, so fun and so fattening!!!!

C-A-R-T-E-R

Carter has been playing a lot with his Doodle pad lately and his new drawing obsession is letters. The other day he wrote his name for the very first time on his doodle pad so I had him do it again so I could share it with everyone. My writing is at the top (and in a straight line), Carter's is below.....that should be obvious.

As most of you know, Carter is obsessed about drawing and often carries around a piece of paper or his doodle pad so that he can create beautiful works of art (or stick figures without neck or bodies) and so naturally now Deacon is obsessed with drawing. They both have had doodle pads attached to their hips for the last few weeks and it is so funny, because if Carter draws something and wants me to look at it, then Deacon has to scribble on his pad and makes me look. I am worried that I might get a serious case of whiplash. It is very cute....

Grandma's Old Furniture

Some of you may recognize this piece of furniture. That's right, this is grandma & grandpa G's old hutch from the dining room. I took the doors off (saving them for a later project) and painted the rest of it. I moved it to the living room and love how it turned out. I think even Brent was a little bit impressed. Thought you all might like to see it!!!

Hugs!

Wee.......

Carter is officially diaper free!!!!! We have been nightime potty training him for about the last three weeks and it has been a huge success thanks to this miracle invention, the Wet-Stop 3. He had at least one accident a night for the first week, but has been almost accident free for the last 2+ weeks. It is so nice to only have to worry about one set of diapers now. One down, one to go.....

Ah Gary!

The Race

Ah, the race....Brent ran his frist half marathon last weekend and did great. He finished in 2 hours, which was actually very impressive since he really isn't a runner and didn't do a ton of training. If you notice there are no pictures of Brent at the race because we never saw Brent at the race. That's right, we went there, spent hours there (approx 4 1/2) and never saw him. I got there early, got my spot set up, dealt with the boys whining and running away from me, people crowding me and trying to take my spot....three hours later, they announced on the big speaker that the finish line for the half marathon was at a different location!!!!! There were over 100,000 people there so I was not happy. I made a quick attempt to find him, but realized very soon that I would never find him and hoofed it back to the car and drove home. The best part of the story is that Brent beat us home....yep! This was not a race that I wanted to go to (because of all the reasons mentioned above), and will not be going to another one by myself with the boys during this stage of their lives. I told Brent the only way I will go support him at a race ever again is if we are by ourselves and make a vacation out of it. I am thinking maybe the Rock and Race in Savannah sounds nice?

Soccer

Super pleased with himself after scoring a goal.

He is taunting the other team....honestly.

Soccer...where do I begin? Most of you know how the soccer season is going so far, but for those of you that don't I will give you a quick run-down. I hate the organization (terribly disorganized), our coach knows nothing about soccer, and we have 5 people on our roster (it is a 6v6 league). We have had three games so far and at every one of them Carter has had some sort of dramatic crying session, but once he gets over it he has a great time and always leaves very pleased with himself. The crazy thing is that he actually seems to have a lot of natural ability, so hopefully he can find some inner strength and we can find a good organization for him to continue on with.

Dirty Faces

I am forever trying to take close up pictures of the boys so that I can blow them up and do some fun things with them, but everytime I try, this is what I get. Faces full of snot, ketchup, crackers, rashes....the list goes on and on. Very frustrating!!!! I think it is time for Photoshop.

Shaving with Dad

Carter got a Spiderman shaving kit for Christmas.....Enough said! Very cute!!!
