Our New Landscaping

We finally decided to do something about our front yard and this is what it looks like now. The landscapers came on Friday and removed everything except for the two trees you see here. We are amazed at how much bigger our house looks from the front, because now you can actually see the entire front porch. We feel like our house looks twice as big! We have no idea, what we are going to fill all of the empty space with yet, but we will be going to the nursery in a week or so to pick stuff out. Don't worry though, the blue pot with the dead plants will stay!

We Like Corn on the Cob

Carter had Corn on the Cob for the first time last night and I think he liked it!

Cherry Creek Sneak

After many years of nagging, our friend Carl finally convinced Brent to run in his first marathon. Last Friday, Brent agreed to run with Carl in the Cherry Creek Sneak (This is a very popular 5K Marathon that is done downtown with approx. 2500 participants). So with a day and a half's notice and zero training Brent was registered and regretting his decision.

It was supposed to rain on Sunday, but we all woke up very early (6:00am to be exact) to beautiful sunshine and the day only got better from there. Brent not only beat Carl by 50 seconds, but finished 19th out of 154 in his age group and 159th out of 1200 men. Carter and I were very proud of him, we only wished we would've seen him cross the finish line. We were not expecting him to finish before Carl, so we didn't start looking for him until after Carl crossed the finish line.

As you can imagine, I think that Carl has created a monster and Brent is already talking about his next marathon!

Spring Time in Colorado

Apparently, this year, spring = snow! This is the second spring snow storm we have had that has produced over a foot of snow. Carter was soaking wet and I asked him if he wanted to come inside and he said no, because he was working!

New Floors....Yeah!

As many of you know, I have waited for this day for a very long time and couldn't be happier that it has finally arrived. We had hardwood floors installed in the entire downstairs of our house and it turned out beautifully! These pictures really don't do it justice, but they give you an idea of what it looks like. Hopefully you will all make a visit to see us, so that you can see these beauties in person.

Tennis!

Carter just completed his third week of tennis lessons and is loving it! It is still too early to tell if he has any real talent, but he has a great time and they wear him out which is great for me! I will let you all know if there has been any great improvement in the next six weeks.

Carter Loves Benny Too!

Brent took this picture about a month ago, but it is so cute I couldn't resist sharing it. This is Carter with his favorite bear (it is really a dog with no official name) and Brent's beloved childhood bear Benny. Carter loves Ben and is always asking Brent if he can play with it. We let Carter give Benny hugs, but then we remind him that Benny is very old and needs to go back to bed.
