Carter LOVES Santa!

Apparently Carter's love for Santa does not translate well in picture. Maybe next year....

The picture is so close up because I had to sit next to Santa in order for Carter to even stay on the couch. They had to crop my arm out of the picture.

Gingerbread House

Winter has finally arrived...unfortunately! Today was a pretty snowy, nasty day, so Carter and I decided to make his very first Gingerbread house. What a masterpiece!!! Please don't comment on the fact that there are no doors or windows. We are not professionals and they don't supply enough icing in the kit for amateurs.

Trick or Treat?

I am very happy to say that Carter's first Halloween was a success!!! The weekend before Halloween, we took him to Trick or Treat Street which is an event they hold at the Recreational center so that he could practice saying Trick or Treat. Although he came home from that event with a lot of candy, I wouldn't say it went very well. He was very grumpy and didn't seem to like it very much. I was a little worried....

But then Halloween arrived and he was ready to go. His friend Jackson and his parents came over so the boys could trick or treat together. It was a lot of fun and they both seemed to enjoy themselves immensly. Neither of them said Trick or Treat, but there were lots of Thank You's!

They Say It's Your Birthday

Carter had a fantastic 2nd birthday! Mom and Ashely flew in from Seattle to celebrate with us and by the end of the day everyone was exhausted from all of the birthday fun. Cars were the theme for this birthday and there was no shortage of cars anywhere. He got approx. 20 cars for his birthday and a car race track. We also had decorations from the Disney movie "Cars".
It was a lot of fun to see Carter open his presents by himself (slowly) and try to blow out his candles. Can't wait for next year!

Is Brent "The Mole"?....I think so!

For Labor day, I wanted to go visit Mt. Evans. This is about a 2 hour drive from our house and is only open for a short period of time in the summer due to weather. Mt. Evans is famous for being the highest paved road in North America at 14,240 feet.

Despite Brent's lack of enthusiasm for the trip, he agreed to come with Carter and I. We stopped at a deli and bought sandwiches and planned on having a picnic at the top when we arrived. This is where the sabotaging begins....

Shortly after we arrived at the rangers station, Brent started eating his sandwich while driving (no more picnic I guess). Next, he announces to me that we are out of gas and not going to be able to make it to the top. Fishy?....

So, to make a long story short we came within 5 miles of the top and then had to go back down to find some gas. We did get a few pictures at one of the pull over spots and make it down to a gas station in time. I hope to go back next year so that I can say I made it to the top!

First Trip to the Dentist

Today was Carter's very first dentist appt. He was very well behaved and very interested in everything that was happening to him. The good news is that there are no cavaties, but the bad news is that he can no longer have juice. So sad!!!!
