Rawhide

Brent woke up with lots of ambition on Sunday and wanted to take the family to Rawhide in Chandler. Rawhide is a Wild West Town where they do shoot outs in the street, burro rides, cowboy games, gold panning, barbeque's, etc. I said "sure, that sounds like a good idea and I know that the boys will love it, but I don't think it opens until later...don't you think you should check the website to see what time it opens?" Brent says "Oh, we are good, they will be open by the time we get there." When we got into the car at 8:35am I looked in the Arizona Family Fun book that we had brought with us and noticed that it didn't open until 11:00am!!! We thought that was a problem, but we stopped at a casino on the way and had breakfast (our second of the day) and Brent played a few rounds of blackjack (he says he won $60, but I'm not sure I believe him). It was finally time almost 11:00am so we drove down the street to Rawhide and this is what we saw....an empty parking lot and a sign that they were only open from 6:00-9:00pm that night. We fell victim to summer hours, so we didn't end up going to Rawhide, but the day wasn't a total loss because we did finally make it to the zoo!!
